It is presented for the enjoyment, reminiscing and who knows learning by those involved in the Ultrasonic Non Destructive Testing (NDT) community, both young and old alike. This film outlines, what was then a state-of-the art for ultrasonic testing and references original work of Floyd A. Firestone as early as 1943. NDT Systems will be presenting similar type videos as they become available to us.
Ultrasonic Inspection By Sperry Part 2 NDT Systems, Inc. is pleased to present Schlieren Imaging Part 1 of 3 for your enjoyment. Tech Report 701 was produced by Automation Industries in Boulder Colorado, then, one of the more significant research facilities in ultrasonic's for the time. Produced in 1970, It allowed the viewer to visualize sound path travel as a result of various reflectors placed in the path of sound. It has been transcribed off an original 16mm film with no intended effort to "modernize" the presentation. The film was broken into 3 segments 1, 2, & 3 of 3 to permit easier up and down load.
