The following is a short list of PortaScan 007 components and optional accessories. For a complete list please contact NDT Systems or your local representative.

PortaScan corrosion mapping system (motorized)
System includes computer, color monitor, Quantum ultrasonic instrument, motor controllers ultrasonic imaging software, and DAC card, packaged in a protective suitcase; and couplant vessel.  Required accessories (described later) include scanner, control cable bundle, probe holder, probe holder insert, and transducer/probe(s).

P3-12 PipeScanner
Motorized, portable X-Y scan bridge for use on pipe from 4" (10cm) diameter to flat, with precision lead screw positioning, optical X-Y encoders ("0.001" resolution). Y-axis accepts detachable probe holder AE12402 (included) with probe holder insert (required accessory).  Designed for compact storage/portability.  Practical area coverage per scan is 13" on the y-axis (cross axis).  Attached to piping by hi-power magnetic wheels for magnetic material or flexible belts for non-magnetic materials (additional).

P2-12 ARM - Cantilever Extender Arm
Optional for use with the P3-12 motorized PipeScanner.  When attached to the end of the P2-12 motorized scanning is possible to within 3/4" of an obstruction, weld, wall, etc.

Motorized Mini Scanner
Motor-Driven, portable X-Y scan bridge (Ultra light - Approximately 8 Lbs.) For use on flat or moderately contoured product surfaces, with precision rack-and-pinion gearing, optical X-Y encoders ("0.001" Resolution), tilting Bridge X-axis arm (with bearings), Y-axis arm tip accepts detachable probe holder with probe holder insert (required accessories), detachable Y-axis arm design for compact storage / portability.  Has a maximum scan area size of 15" on the Y-axis and 18" on the X-axis. Optional irregular scan area definition capability (model PS-IS) available at extra cost.  Requires 007 CCB cables (priced separately)

Model 2168 Probe Holder
Detachable ball bearing-gimbaled irrigated probe holder that connects onto end of the Mini Scanner Y-axis arm (required extra-cost accessory). Smooth, free-moving gimbal design assures scanning ease and suitability for use on flat or moderately contoured product surfaces. Model 2168 is used with virtually all contact and delay line Nova and Optima transducers with housing diameters from 5/16" to 3/4" (transducer models D12 to C16) with appropriate insert. The 2168 housing is an irrigated contact type holder.  A water inlet fitting on the housing accepts a small diameter plastic tube that supplies the water couplant from model MPCV3 manually pressurized couplant vessel.

Model 72224 Stainless Steel Probe Holder Insert
For AE10404, AE10405, AE10406 and other 0.600"OD probes; fits AE10402 PipeScanner and 2168 Mini Scanner probe holders. These inserts are hardened to Rockwell 50 for long life. Please click on image to view assembled probe holder / insert / transducer assembly

Model AE10402Probe Holder
Detachable gimbaled irrigated probe holder for use (and an included accessory) with the P3-12 motorized pipe scanner.  Smooth, free-moving design assures scanning ease on flat or contoured (such as pipe ODs of 6") product surfaces. Accepts model 72224-00-00 stainless steel probe holder insert.  The model AE10402 is an irrigated contact type holder.  A water inlet fitting on the housing accepts a small diameter plastic tube that supplies the water couplant from the model MPCV3 manually pressurized couplant vessel.

AE10404 Transducer
Dual Element, 5.0MHz, 0.22" Dia., 0.060" - 1.000" thickness range, 0.600" case OD

AE10405 Transducer
Dual Element, 5.0MHz, 0.375" Dia., 0.040" - 9.999" thickness range, 0.600" case OD

AE10406 Transducer
Dual Element, 10 MHz, 0.20" Dia., 0.022" - 1.875" thickness range, very good near surface detection of pitting and corrosion. 0.600" case OD

Delrin Inserts fitted to Model 2168 Probe Holder minimize any surface abrasion while scanning
